Air quality remains good area wide today under mainly sunny skies. More of the same is on tap through the rest of the workweek with a backdoor cold frontal passage slated for tomorrow that will go largely unnoticed other than slightly cooler air arriving in its wake. Some particle pollution could accumulate briefly ahead of the boundary, elevating readings to the upper Code Green range for tomorrow. As high pressure builds in and the potential for stronger overnight temperatures inversions increases on Thursday night, particle pollution levels are expected to build into the lower Code Yellow range on Friday. With the waning October sun providing less solar energy for ozone production, readings will remain well within the Code Green range. (Greg Perrotte / perrotgt@forsyth.cc)
